John Fiebig is an accounting and auditing expert with over thirty-five years of practical and regulatory experience in Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) standards and audits, U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and U.S. Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS). Mr. Fiebig also has deep expertise with auditor independence issues, and compliance and enforcement matters involving the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the PCAOB.
Mr. Fiebig has particular expertise with audits, including planning and execution, root cause analysis, system of quality management assessment, deficiency remediation, risk assessment, internal control testing for integrated audits, and the PCAOB inspection process. He has been retained as an expert witness and testified in deposition in civil litigation. Mr. Fiebig has also served as an expert witness in regulatory enforcement actions.
In his former role as senior deputy director and program leader for the PCAOB’s Global Network Firm Program, Mr. Fiebig oversaw inspections of accounting firms of all sizes, including the U.S. Big 4, as well as non-U.S. registered accounting firms. He has worked on numerous U.S. and international matters related to PCAOB standards, quality control and compliance issues, enforcement actions, and disciplinary orders.
Before joining the PCAOB, Bodog Poker Mr. Fiebig worked for seventeen years as an auditor, including as a signing audit partner at Ernst & Young. In that role, he conducted audits of public and private companies ranging from startups to large public entities in the aerospace and defense, biotechnology, financial services, oil and gas, telecommunications, and utilities industries.
Mr. Fiebig cofounded and serves as president of ADIGEO Consulting LLC, a consulting firm focused on improving audit quality and addressing regulatory issues.
