Mr. Clarke has submitted numerous expert reports and has testified or been deposed in arbitrations. He has served as an arbitrator in purchase price disputes.
Mr. Clarke is a certified public accountant (CPA) whose expertise includes strategy and business planning, enterprise risk management, financial planning, analysis and modeling, financial reporting and internal control, operations improvement, and turnarounds. Other specific health industry expertise includes certificate of need, bodog casino review compliance, managed care agreements, medical claims processing, and value-based care.
In healthcare mergers and acquisitions (M&A), Mr. Clarke has served as financial advisor for over fifty deals, conducting due diligence and merger efficiency analysis and developing pro forma financial plans, financing options, and merger plans.
In litigation and other disputes, Mr. Clarke has served as a consulting and testifying expert, for both liability and damages, on matters involving affiliation agreements, due diligence, financing arrangements, business process outsourcing, professional services liability, and third-party reimbursement. He has extensive financial reporting experience, including U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and statutory accounting principles. Before founding The Avec Group, Mr. Clarke was managing partner of the Deloitte Risk & Financial Advisory Services Life Science & Health Care Practice. Previously, he served as deputy national healthcare industry leader at Arthur Andersen.
Mr. Clarke has extensive board governance experience, including serving as the board chair, treasurer, or finance and audit committee member for several nonprofit organizations in the healthcare industry.
